Simple Life

Monday I spent the day back home in New Sharon. We took our all girls annual shopping trip on Sunday so I decided to take Monday to relax and spend the day with my family. My sister mom and I took Lane and the the boys my sister babysits( clay and Joel) to pella to the lookout tower in Pella. I remember going there when I was in elementary so we thought it would be super fun for the boys. Originally we were supposed to go to the pella pool for the day but since it was rather cold outside yesterday we decided this was a better option.

Here we are at the Look out Tower

Then we went to the park to play, needless to say big kids can still have fun at the park. :)

Saturday we celebrated my Uncle Mark's 30th Birthday and Aspen had a small accident while we were there. No worries she was still running, jumping, being crazy and acting like her usual self. She gets a full cast within the next week or so. Silly Girl almost gave everyone a heart attack. She truly is a Trooper.

It really is the simple things in life like spending time with family, enjoy every minute because in the blink of an eye everything can change. Life is a beautiful thing enjoy it in every way possible.

XOXO

Paige :)

Tiny Finger, Tiny Toes but a HUGE Heart

Yesterday I traveled to Iowa City to see a good friend of mine Emily and her new preemie baby Reagan Jean. Reagan was born at 22 weeks 4 days. She weighed 1lb 1/2 oz on Wednesday August 1st so, yesterday marked a very special day for her. Her ONE WEEK Birthday. It was so amazing to get to be there and see her progress but at the same time It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I can't imagine not only what Reagan is going through but her parents Emily and Matt. They could use all the prayers they could get as Reagan is a fighter but has a long road ahead of her. She truly is a fighter, she kicks and squirms just like any normal baby, and although she looks  just like her daddy(Matt) she has the fighting heart of her mama.

Here is Reagan Jean taking a little nap when I first got there

While I was there Reagan had an Ultrasound of her Brain and she was such a tough little cowgirl :-)

Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality but Reagan has to be kept in the dark so no loud  noises, bright lights or flashes :) All I can say is that she truly is a miracle in the works, I have never seen something so touching. Matt ,Emily and Reagan are all fighters and I have no doubt that they wont make it through this with flying colors. All prayers are appreciated and if you want to follow Reagan's progress here is her own personal website that her mama updates daily :) http://reaganjean.blogspot.com/

Yesterday was an eye opening day, that the problems I face day to day are so small compared to what Reagan is going through on an hourly basis, she is truly a gift from god and opened my eyes to realize that life is full of trials and that we each need to be a fighter and show not only ourselves but god how strong we are. She truly is an inspiration and she is only 1 week old, I can only imagine what else God has in store for her tough little heart. :)
