~Family Blood, Thick As It Comes~

This past weekend was a crazy one but fun-filled for sure. I am so grateful to have such a fun loving, easy going, crazy family.

Friday my family hosted a 50's Car Hop Night at the Dairy Creme. We have tried for years to convince my Grandma that this was a good idea and my sister finally convinced her this year. We were all beyond thrilled and don't let her fool you she enjoyed coming down and seeing us. She did although, leave town for the first half of the night. We love her to pieces either way, she just couldn't handle 3 generations of Morris blood running the Dairy Creme :) HA HA

My Grandpa was DELIGHTED to say the least. He absoultey loved ever minute of it. I can't express how important these little moments are. I have always been Grandpa's Little Girl and I can't imagine life without him. It was such a blessing to get to host 50's Car Hop Night with him :)
P.S 3 Generations of Morris Blood was INDEED a good time!!!!
We also had some extra spice from a special red headed friend who refused to take pictures :)
Having a sister to experience this with is a blessing but having a mom and a sister willing to be crazy, silly and adventurous is the BIGGEST blessing a girl could ask for. I love them both to pieces and the night wouldn't have been the same without them!!! :)

Thankfully, we made it through the night with NO catastrophes.
OH WAIT, NOT!!!
My mom found a little GREY hair on my head. Let's just say I had a LARGE meltdown but quickly recovered!!! :)
Saturday was full of festivities as it was Spring Festival in New Sharon. Lane and I ran the Jace Race and he SUCCESSFULLY completed his first 5k. I think I told him 100 times how proud I was of him. He was such a trooper and kept right up with mimi and I :)

Family really does create a circle of never ending love. So grateful for the family I have.
P.S. I LOVE this quote!!

I am so thankful to have been able to go home and spend the weekend with my family and friends. Thank you to everyone who helped and came out to 50's Car Hop Night. We greatly appreciated it and hope to talk Grandma Into doing it again :)

Blessings

As many farmers have experienced this year; we have also had a fair share of flooding. Although flooding of freshly planted farm ground can be frustrating and discouraging we were more than grateful to still have a house and land to call our own. I can't imagine what Oklahoma is going through and it really put things into perspective when Zac and I were keeping the Flood gate this weekend at the farm. We were discussing how sad it was to think that just a couple weeks ago we were riding in the tractor planting crops in these fields that now look like a small lake. We simultaneously looked at each other and were like oh my gosh just imagine what it would be like living in Oklahoma. Their houses, school, and children were there one day and gone the next. I can't imagine how they feel and we are truly blessed to still have what we have; flooding or not. Life will go on and we are all safe and sound. So, here are some pictures of our fun, scary and crazy adventure to check the flood gates this weekend. The goal this past spring was to level out the top of the levy so it would be easier to go and check the flood gates if it did happen to flood. Well, needless to say one thing led to another and we didn't get it completed so, our adventure was interesting and I even had to get off the Ranger at times for Zac to maneuver it like a "Pro" as he would say :)

This is one of our corn fields, looking like a small lake!!!

The current of the water uprooted a few trees and this is what was left when the water levels started to drop!!

This is near our flood gate

This is one of Zac's "Pro" times while trying not to fall into the water off the levy :)

Hope you are all staying  dry and warm. Count your blessings and enjoy summer :)
